The Pawn
The Pawn by Nicholas A. Titus
The grand ole jury as some might say Judging you on judgment day These five wicked souls who send you to plunder What of the fifth, I wonder I wonder Five has gone against the vote As the wicked four take note Saying they will send him astray What five has done caused much dismay The jury now stands incomplete Weak with no umbrella Five is set free from his burden One, Two, Three and Four set out to judge Five But five lay dormant, far away Waiting to be judged on judgment day One is confused on what to do So one finds five where five lays Five now confronted by one So you are here to judge thee One replies No! I want to know what you know Five with a grin says you thought of it too One says I thought up something new You went against the rules and nothing happened to you You breathing, you're still five and not a thing has gone wrong Five asks One what of Two, Three and Four. I imagined them away Here no more A judging job is quite the burden A life of freedom is one with intrigue The life of judging caused such fatigue What of this, what have you done? It took Five to teach just one So live your life not set by rules Cause judging men are judging fools...
